The Academy Musical Theatre Classes
Musical Theatre classes at The Academy run on Sunday (All Day) and Wednesday (Evening) and offer sessions in all 3 main Musical Theatre skills: Singing, Dance & Drama.
The classes are for pupils aged 6+ and if you want to perform then these are the classes for you. We work on technique and performance to improve your skills in all 3 of the Musical Theatre disciplines culminating in our fantastic full scale Annual Production which takes place in a local professional theatre.
All classes are taught by experienced, DBS checked, musical theatre teachers and performers.

Uniform
Should you decide to join our classes we do not have a compulsory uniform, however there are a few items that we require every student in the main school to have for our annual show. You can purchase the items below or feel free to source your own:
Black Leotard
Black jazz shoes
Academy T shirt
Thick Strapped Black leotard required for all girls
All students will need Jazz shoes for our show however boys that feel uncomfortable may wear all black trainers

Main School Classes
Sunday 10-1 or 2.30-5.30
Juniors - 6-8 years
Inters - 9-11 years
Seniors 12 +
Students move up every September and teachers take into account ability and the make up of the classes as well as age when deciding to move students into a different class.
Sunday Tap 1:00pm - 1:30pm
Juniors 6-8 years
Inters 9-12 years
Seniors (selected on ability)
All of our main school students have the option to add Tap to their Musical Theatre classes on a Sunday. These classes develop the students skills in tap, building their ability in this sepcialised field and as the students become able they also learn cheorogrphy for the Show Dances.
Wednesday 4.30-6.30
Juniors - 6-8 years
Inters 9-12 years
These classes run term time only and are a great stepping stone between the Young Performers Class and the Main school. There is less of a commitment than the Sunday Classes, so this may suit children who have busy schedules but still what the opportunity to perform.
Young Performer Classes
Saturday
Tap - 9:00am - 9:30am
Musical Theatre - 10:00am - 11:00am
Private Singing (15min lessons) - 11:00am -12:30pm
Sunday
Musical Theatre - 9:15am-10:15am or 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Our specialist classes for younger students are very popular. The classes focus on the three Musical Theatre disciplines: Dance, Drama and Singing. As the children develop their skills in each of genres they learn to work as a team with their peers, develop their creativity and focus on confidence building all while making new friends that last a lifetime. The skills they learn in this class give them fantastic foundations to help them move seemlessly into the Main School when the time comes.
Should you wish to stop classes at The Academy we require written confirmation and half a terms notice.
